What is the Enneagram?
Combining traditional wisdom and modern psychology the Enneagram is a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and the people in our lives.
Stemming from the Greek words ennea (nine) and grammos (a written symbol), the nine-pointed Enneagram symbol represents nine distinct strategies for relating to the self, others and the world.
Each Enneagram type has a different pattern of thinking, feeling and acting that arises from a deeper inner motivation or worldview. Knowing about the the different patterns and habits offers profound insights into the way people think, feel and behave.
On a psychological level, studying the Enneagram and identifying your own type can help you to increase self awareness. It will enable you to identify your weakness and blind spots but unlike many other psychological systems it also describes the path of inner growth for each type. Uncovering the unconscious and often repetitive patterns that direct our beliefs, our emotions, and our behavior, can become the first step towards more fulfilling relationships and life in general.
From a spiritual point of view, the Enneagram is a "sacred map to our soul", that can guide us when we embark on our individual journey towards deeper freedom and inner peace.
If we allow ourselves to be guided by its ancient wisdom, it will help us exploring the inner territory of our soul and to identify the areas, we need to address in order to grow and move forward to be who we were meant to be.
